Tyra Penn and Her Army of Snakes present The Last Day of August
On Hold due to COVID

This is a concert based on an uncommonly beautiful novel. John Crowley’s Little, Big is a modern-day fairy tale following a family spanning five generations in their curiously constructed house, located somewhere in rural New England. John Crowley once said of his work that his books are made, in part, of other books. This program is also made from a book, and from a collage of songs, both familiar and unknown.

The performance will be accompanied by an in-progress art piece, a collage assemblage of the house called Edgewood and its many curious residents. Refreshments will be served during intermission while attendees view the art installation.

Tyra Penn and Her Army of Snakes are musical purveyors of broken blues and jazz power ballads, playing songs both familiar and unusual from the peculiar perspective of bandleader and vocalist Tyra Penn.
